This is sweet Chloe and her cart. It is painted purple and pink because those are Chloe’s favorite colors (duh!). Chloe loves her cart because it allows her to get around like a normal dog. However it wasn’t always pink stripes and fun for Miss Chloe.
Chloe suffered a spinal disc rupture. A traumatic event that can occur when excessive force or torque is applied to a spine (whether that’s a fall or something simple like jumping off the bed). That pressure causes the disc to break through and damage the spinal cord. The resulting damage can cause weakness, altered gait and even paralysis. If not caught early, these signs may be permanent. Unfortunately, this was Chloe’s case.
Due to Chloe being paralyzed, her poor prognosis and intensive care, her owner could no longer care for her.
📷Her owner surrendered Chloe to us and she now has a happy loving home with one of our staff. Her new owner built her a handicap cart! (Chloe’s new dad is an engineer y’all… don’t try this at home!) She is ready for the speedway! Besides her cart, Chloe gets daily physical therapy and lots of love!
